Weight Loss Plateau Breaker

Weight loss is a journey. There are exhilarating times when you achieve a good deal of weight loss and other times when you just hit a plateau. You can’t seem to make that scale go downwards no matter what mind tricks you play. Your ketogenic diet recipes aren’t moving the scale in the direction that you want them to and you feel hopeless. It can be extremely frustrating.

Typically what is happening is that your body is adjusting to a different weight, size or way of eating. For me, I implement the high fat keto diet. Initially, my weight goes up instead of down. This is due to the fact that I’m usually consuming more calories from fat that I am used to eating. Eating more helps me feel full. However, it can take awhile to break that bad habit and mindset.

Another thing that could be happening is that your weight loss is stalling because you aren’t consuming the right combination of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. It is easy to mix this one up on the ketogenic diet.

Your Weight Loss Plateau Breaker

The first step to discovering your own personal weight loss plateau breaker is to examine what you are doing. I love fitbit and myfitnesspal apps. They help you to journal your activity level, calories consumed and calories expended. This can help you quickly identify areas that you can improve upon.

Another great thing that you need to do to break your weight loss plateau is change. Change what you are doing. Adjust your calories in or your calories expended. That means change up your workout. Make it harder. Change the foods that you eat.

As humans, we tend to get comfortable doing one thing over another. Change can be difficult. However, when we change what we are doing on a daily basis in regards to our food consumption or our exercise program, it challenges our bodies. This helps to break the weight loss plateau.

For me, my weight loss plateau breaker has always been increasing exercise. Lately, that has been more and more difficult due to an ankle injury. However, knowing is half the battle. Once you know what to do, doing it becomes easier and easier the more that you do it.

Here are some simple ways to break your weight loss plateau:

  1. Cut your carbohydrate intake
  2. Increase exercise intensity
  3. Increase exercise amount
  4. Intermittent Fasting
  5. Eliminate Alcohol
  6. Get Hydrated with Water
  7. Get Fiber from Vegetables

Changing up these simple aspects of your life can have a major impact on your overall weight loss goal. You’ll also notice that your overall health is very improved just from doing these simple things. [easyazon_image align=”left” height=”500″ identifier=”B006ST309U” locale=”US” src=”https://getfitandhealthyathome.com//wp-content/uploads/2017/09/31nu6kHk2L.jpg” tag=”mcurle08-20″ width=”333″]
