Quest Protein Bar, Product Overview
Quest bars are protein bars that are very popular with the ketogenic dieters. Every quest bar has at least 20 grams of protein and less than 7 net carbohydrates. They are a very convenient way to get in your protein as you are on the go, especially great for hiking and outdoors activities.
Quest bars are created with scientifically beneficial ingredients. Quest Nutrition uses a blend of milk and whey protein isolates. Therefore, in every bar there is cleaner protein without the excess carbohydrates, fat and junk that is common in most protein bars.
Quest nutrition protein bars contain thirteen grams of dietary fiber. Fiber is helpful in reducing the absorption of carbohydrates and slowing down the digestion. It also increases metabolism. One Quest bar can provide you with 1/4 of your daily recommended fiber intake.
Quest nutrition protein bars are versatile enough to be used as ingredients. You can actually microwave them for ten seconds to make them a hot and delicious treat. Get creative with your protein bars!
The Good & the Bad
The Good:
- They are convenient. You can take these protein bars on the go with you and have a ketogenic snack or meal replacement at the ready.
- They fit into a ketogenic diet. These bars are not too high in carbohydrates. You can stay low carb and even in ketosis on these protein bars.
- Quest nutrition bars taste pretty good. They don’t taste quite like a candy bar, but some of the flavors are enjoyable.
- Gluten and Soy Free. Gluten and soy are two of the most inflammatory ingredients that you can eat. Many people have allergies to them, so it is great that these ingredients were left out of Quest Nutrition Protein Bars.
The Bad:
- The ingredients are not that great. You are eating a processed protein blend instead of real meat and naturally occurring protein.
- It also has soluble corn fiber in it. Who needs that?
- It contains erythritol, a sugar alcohol. You’ll still have some negative effects of sugar, but not all of them. It won’t spike your blood sugar.
- It contains sugar alternatives stevia and sucralose. These are highly refined foods.
- It is processed in a facility that also processes eggs, peanuts, soy, wheat and other tree nuts.
Who are Quest Nutrition Bars for?
These bars are great for athletes who want to stay on the ketogenic diet, but may need some nutrition that is easy to eat on the go. The bars are easy to carry with you and convenient for snacking.
I do not recommend these bars for people who are doing the ketogenic diet due to a health condition. The corn fiber, sugar alcohols and the fact that they are produced in a facility that processes peanuts, soy, wheat and eggs means that they can be harmful for people with autoimmune conditions and food sensitivities.

Quest Nutrition Bars Price
For a processed food protein bar, this is competitively priced. You can purchase a box of 12 for $28 on Amazon. This is a little over $2 per bar. However, the amount of protein in each bar will keep you full for hours.
My Final Opinion of Quest Nutrition Protein Bars
When I was starting out on the ketogenic diet, I purchased a box of these. Initially, I felt like the flavor and texture was a little off. However, after the first one or two, I found that they could be quite enjoyable. They weren’t quite as tasty as a candy bar, but they had more flavor than cardboard.
However, I pause to recommend these products. They will not lead your body to heal and seal the gut lining, as Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride insists is important in the GAPS diet. They will fit into your macros on a ketogenic diet, but the ingredients are not optimal. Due to the fact that some of the ingredients aren’t optimal, you may notice that you aren’t healing from your autoimmune conditions. You may be losing weight, but healing would be slow with corn fiber sticking around in your diet.
They received a rating of 80 out of 100 from me due to the positive reviews on Amazon. There are many people who like the taste of them and fit them into their diet. Additionally, it is currently one of Amazon’s best-sellers in health and nutrition.

VERDICT: LEGIT! These are decent protein bars. Don’t expect too much from them.
Hey!
I can vouch for you and say that these protein bars are sooooo tasty! This is the brand that I order and I am very satisfied with them.
Not only do you get a good amount of protein, but they are at a decent calorie level as well.

Thanks for adding your opinion! I do think that some of the flavors are pretty tasty.
I’ve tried these Quest bars, as I’m athletic and don’t always have time for a meal, so a protein bar is great when you’re on the go. I honestly think it comes down to what flavour you purchase.
I purchased the Coconut Cashew one and the Chocolate Brownie ones. The Coconut Cashew was so bad my wife refused to eat it after 1 bite. Unfortunately for me, I had a box of these I had to finish! It was so hard and chewy I felt I was going to break my teeth with them. But the Chocolate Brownie ones were nice and soft and flavourful.
I’d definitely by the Chocolate Brownie ones again, but not the Coconut ones.
Hello there.
Thanks for this very informative review of Quest Protein Bars.
I’ll definitely include them on my next shopping list.
Best regards and God bless

I love Quest bars but I do not eat them often. It is the questionable ingredients, as sugar substitutes tend to make me crave sugar.
If I am shopping and find a deal and the flavors that I like, I will buy some and throw them in the freezer. My favorites are Lemon Pie and Cookies and cream. They are super handy for days when my plans go awry and need something that is not full of sugar and carbs.
Great post!
I think they are good for occasional use like you mentioned. Sugar substitutes make me crave sugar as well!
This is great!! WHY?? Because you tell the reader exactly what they need, and why! Love how its portrayed!
Hi,
These protein bars sound like a great option!
My grandpa is having a ketogenic diet recently due to his diabetic issue. You mentioned that you don’t recommend people taking a ketogenic diet due to health issue to this protein bars or it might affect their autoimmune condition. I am just wondering if my grandpa is taking the ketogenic diet due to diabetes, is this protein bar okay for him?
